By decision of the Chapter House of the Laurel of Innovativeness Competition named after Stanisław Staszic, the Golden Laurel 2015 award in the category of Construction Industry, Public Facilities, Safety and Firefighting went to EuRoPol GAZ for the project „Gas Transmission Service in the Aspect of Improving Safety of Humans, Environment and Technology".
This is another award the Company won for its contribution to growth of technical safety of the infrastructure of the Polish part of the Yamal gas pipeline. In 2014, EuRoPol GAZ s.a. was awarded with a figurine and the Leader of Technical Safety title in the User category by the Office of Technical Inspection.
The goal of the Laurel of Innovativeness Competition named after Stanisław Staszic, organised annually by the Federation of Technical Associations - the Supreme Technical Organisation (NOT), is to promote innovative products, technologies and services and also other innovative solutions that may affect acceleration of social and economic growth of Poland. This competition takes place under patronage of governmental, parliamentary and industrial institutions, both Polish and international.
The main goal of the EuRoPol GAZ s.a.’s project „Gas Transmission Service in the Aspect of Improving Safety of Humans, Environment and Technology" is to implement new innovative technologies in the area of protection of humans, the environment and property against results of uncontrolled gas leaks, fire or other emergency events along the Polish part of the Yamal gas pipeline. The project introduces state-of-the-art solutions for detection of explosive gases and fire, and also in the area of electronic means of protection for technology process, especially the Emergency Shutdown (ESD) systems. All equipment and also the finished system is subject to certification by an authorised certification body in terms of the Safety Function Assessment and in terms of compliance with the requirement to achieve the functional safety at the SIL2 level.
Thank to this project advanced automatic control systems installed in compressor stations in the Polish part of the Yamal gas pipeline have been improving safety and contributing to rising reliability of service rendering by EuRoPol GAZ s.a.
