Quality and Safety: Quality Assurance System

A quality assurance system has been developed and implemented to suit the needs of this project. What this means in practice is that all work undertaken is rigorously supervised and assessed for safety.
All suppliers of materials have been carefully selected since we believe quality is the highest priority in a project like this one. This is why only the best of the best domestic and international companies have supplied to project.

The technology and quality requirements must comply with Polish Standards (PN) and industry regulations applicable in Poland, or with European Standards (EN) if a Polish Standard does not exist.

All materials and equipment used for the construction of the gas pipeline must comply with Polish Standards or be certified by a specialised R&D institute and carry a mandatory safety label.

All major manufacturers and suppliers of materials and equipment must have a certificate of compliance with ISO 9000 for their quality systems. In addition, the quality system of every manufacturer has been audited and validated by EuRoPol GAZ experts.
The quality assurance system provides for a very stringent quality inspection of welds. The automatic ultrasonic testing methodology used for the first time in Poland offers the maximum welding failure detection rate. In addition, radiographic tests of welds are conducted on the most sensitive points of the pipeline.
The completed sections of the pipeline have performed successfully in pressure tests conducted according to Polish Standards and the German TÜV standards.

The maintenance status of the pipeline will be continuously monitored throughout its operating lifecycle by the SCADA system which uses the state-of-the-art communications, telemechanics and remote sensing technologies.
